After a vote, 1,700 Disneyland Resort cast members who play characters in the park and perform at parades have voted to unionize. The vote was described as a landslide victory, with 953 cast members favoring unionization. The group announced the union organizing effort in February. Employees dressing up as Disney characters have been excluded until now. The labor relations board is expected to certify the results next week, after which contract negotiations with The Walt Disney Company will begin.
